Betty Macfarlane

Pittenweem born artist Betty, has lived in Pittenweem her entire life, her parents and grandparents for generations alike. Her surroundings are her inspiration and past influences being around the fishing boats with her father a fisherman has had a direct effect on her work.

Her drawing career began at an electronic firm General Instrument in Glenrothes where she drew circuits. One of which landed on the moon on an Apollo Mission

Each piece of driftwood is carefully selected and dried after beachcombing (donations of driftwood welcome), sanded, painted with 6 layers then varnished. Although most of the pieces shown here have either been commissions or now sold , She does have a new collection at the festival and commissions are always available. You can either supply photos by mail or alternatively pop in and choose a piece of driftwood yourself.
